Our 25th annual Road Rally is scheduled for Saturday, October 7, 2017. We hope you’ll join us as we once again celebrate Bridgehampton’s racing heritage. Cars built in 1969 and earlier are eligible and newer vintages will be considered on a case-by-case basis. This year’s Rally will include four other components: a judged show, a parade, a historic trivia quest, and a special timed component. The Rally Route will be approximately 60 miles and will include four stops to collect poker cards and stops for historic trivia sites.

Schedule of Events

9 a.m.: The Drivers Breakfast/Registration As drivers and navigators arrive at the grounds of the Bridgehampton Museum, Road Rally & Tour d’Hamptons participants register under the Main Tent, then join fellow drivers, their guests and event sponsors to enjoy the warm welcome of a catered continental breakfast under the tent on the North Lawn, setting the festive tone of the day.

10 a.m.: Gates Open to the Public Spectators are admitted free of charge—come view the impressive array of autos on display!

10 a.m.: Bridgehampton Road Rally & Tour d’Hamptons Car Display and Judged Show Come see the classic cars getting ready to take on this year’s course. Each entrant will be displayed in the staging area at the Bridgehampton Museum prior to sendoff, as drivers make final adjustments to their vehicles, swap secrets and savor the chance to show off their autos.

Prior to the Send-Off, judges will evaluate each registered Rally & Tour car. Prizes will be awarded in the afternoon, following their return from the Rally, at the post-race Cocktail Reception, to the winners for Best of Show, People’s Choice, “Most Spirited” award (to the car that best represents the “spirit” of the original Bridgehampton Rally) and a “Most Original” award (to the car that is, well, most original).

11 a.m.: Road Rally Parade Rallyists will be led around the historic 1949–1953 four-mile Bridgehampton race loop and then return to the Bridgehampton Museum grounds to line up for the start of the Rally and Tour d’Hamptons.

Noon: Road Rally and Tour d’Hamptons Send–off Cars will present on the Main Stage in front of adoring fans prior to setting off as Master of Ceremonies Bob Marlow, Motorsports Editor of CarShowSafari.com, provides details of each car’s provenance. Spectators can view the send–off from underneath the Main Tent.

Noon – 3 p.m.: The 2017 Bridgehampton Road Rally Cars built in 1969 and earlier are eligible for the Bridgehampton Road Rally, but newer vintages will also be considered on a case-by-case basis. This year’s Rally will include a judged show, a parade, a historic trivia quest and a special timed component. The Rally Route will be approximately 60 miles and will include four stops to collect poker cards and stops for historic trivia sites. The route should take about three hours to complete.

  • The Poker Rally: Each car in the Rally will make stops along the way to pick up poker cards. Upon returning to the Bridgehampton Museum grounds, the car with the best poker hand is this year’s Poker Rally winner.
  • The Historic Trivia Quest: The Rally Route will once again include stops at historic sites, most of which will require the driver and/or navigator to get out and explore the property in order to find the answer to a trivia question.
  • The Time Component: This year there will also be a prize for the car that returns back to the Historical Society closest to the official projected Rally time, as pre-determined by the Rally Coordinator. Teams must obey all traffic regulations while making allowances for lunch, “pit stops,” poker stops and trivia stops.

12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.: The Tour d’Hamptons The Tour D’Hamptons offers drivers a shorter but no less thrilling ride through historic Hamptons roads. Open to Brass cars, antique cars, cars of interest, exotics, luxury vehicles—any automobile that exudes the spirit of the road in all its glory—the Tour D’Hamptons navigates a different course than the Road Rally and lasts about 40 minutes.
