Film Historian John DiLeo will talk about his new book Ten Movies at a Time: A 350-Film Journey Through Hollywood and America 1930 – 1970. In this film-clip-laden talk, Mr. DiLeo will cover the Golden Age of Hollywood.  A treat for movie lovers! There will be a book signing after the lecture.

Once upon a time in New York City in the 1950s, there occurred a perfect storm of poetry, art, wit and style that completely transformed the postwar landscape of American poetry.  The Shelter Island Poetry project will revisit that storm with a fascinating look at the people who ignited it and the poetry it produced.

Mollie Numark and journalist Gary Paul Gates will discuss Mollie’s full and memorable life – from living through the strife and turmoil of World War II England to studying ballet; her post-war years dancing in London’s West End; coming to New York’s Latin Quarter and running her own ballet school.
