Asian Arts Initiative is excited to announce the Crescendo Symposium: Afro-Asian Solidarity on Sunday, April 27, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM, at 1219 Vine Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107. This powerful event coincides with the exhibition Crescendo: How Art Makes Movements 1981-1999 and will bring together a series of panels, performances, and lectures that explore the current state of Afro-Asian organizing and solidarity.

The symposium will feature artists from the Asian Arts Initiative’s Artist/Activist Fellowship as well as the Bandung Residency, a collaborative project between the Asian American Arts Alliance and the Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts (MoCADA). These presentations will include artistic performances, panel discussions, and conversations with speakers working to forge solidarity among diverse communities.
