Mysterious, mystifying, alluring. As Cryptic has been defined and subsequently, in this exhibit, delivers. Large abstract works take the viewer through a labyrinth of colors, markings, figures and kings while AI photography presents a striking black and white palette on a myriad of poses.

Featured artist Michael Lotenero has been working as a painter for over 20 years. His art has been exhibited in various galleries and museums throughout the country as well as appearing in publications including TIME, The Wall Street Journal, Graphis, The Big Magazine and Speak among others. His collaboration with José Muniain on the short film installation Navarro, which documented his painting process, was a finalist in the D.C. Independent Film Festival. Recent projects include commissioned work for The New York Pro Surf Competition and The Quiksilver Pro France.

The Black Room serves up some beguiling white as portraits of the female form take on evocative narratives. Photographer Claire Florence uses AI as a tool to generate mesmerizing patterns and imagery with the beautiful shapes of yoga instructors as her muse. Also on display will be some of her jewelry creations that she sculpts using gold with diamonds and gems.

The combination of these two artists creates a powerful tableaux of the beauty that exudes when the abstract and the figurative share the stage.
