David Gruenstein received a B.A. from Columbia College and a J.D. from Harvard Law School. He practiced law for 35 years at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, where he was a litigation partner. Then he retired from active practice of law to start a second career as an investment advisor. He founded Gruenstein Investments LLC and its associated fund, Gruenstein Partners LP.

As a lifelong learner, David has become a devotee of Maimonides and his Guide for the Perplexed. In the last few years he has been studying Maimonides and the Guide on a regular basis. David is particularly focused on applying Maimonidean teachings to improve our own analysis of complex contemporary issues, whether secular or religious.
