THIRTY SQUARED ART SHOW ‘SUMMER FINALE 2025’

More than 10 years ago, Artist Aubrey Grainger threw out a challenge to her painting friends.

Paint 30 paintings in 30 days, hence the name. Aubrey echoed the thoughts of artist, Chuck

Close. He said inspiration is for amateurs and the rest just get to work. About two dozen

accepted the challenge and just got to work. Aubrey created a Facebook group where they

could post their paintings. After 30 days they chose one painting from each artist and organized

a show at the Water Mill Museum in Water Mill. They were thrilled with the results. Each painting

was fresh and beautiful, and the show was a big success. The rules have become more lax

concerning quantity of output, but certainly not quality. The goal is to work daily for 30 days.

This year the works of 25 artists will be on display for sale at the charming historic Water Mill

Museum at 41 Old Mill Road, Water Mill. The show runs from Thursday, September 4th to

Sunday, September 14th. All are invited to a reception to meet the artists on

Saturday, September 6th from 4-7pm. Museum hours are Thursday to Saturday, 11-4 pm,
