Southold Historical Museum’s Winter Lecture Series begins with a presentation titled “The Wickham Family’s Farming Tradition” at 4pm on Jan. 18 at Southold Town Recreation Center.

The free lecture, the first in the “Local Farming through the Years” series sponsored by NoFo Real Estate, will feature Tom Wickham, who will share the family’s long farming heritage dating back to the 1600s.

Mr. Wickham is a former Southold Town Supervisor and a research scientist by training. The family has been farming continually for many generations. The series offers a unique opportunity to understand this part of our history. The “Local Farming Through the Years” series continues in February with speaker Al Krupski, and in March with speaker Mark Torres.
